In the lead up to Dementia Awareness week (21- 27 May 2018), University Campus Aylesbury Vale are delighted to host guest speaker Benedicta Lasoye, Communities Officer, Aylesbury Town Council

Come along and hear why local companies decided to join the Aylesbury Town Dementia Alliance at our next Business Breakfast Briefing on Friday 18th May.

One year on from the launch of the Alliance, Dementia Champion, Benedicta, will look back at how she has contributed to raising the profile of dementia awareness in Aylesbury; creating a Dementia-Aware hub. Dementia Action Alliances are seen as a major step for the area being recognised as a Dementia Friendly Community by Alzheimer’s Society. Member organisations commit to a number of actions outlining the ways in which they aim to become dementia-friendly, such as increasing staff awareness, reviewing their staff policies or creating better signage.

Fiona Chalk, Senior Lecturer – Adult Nursing (Dementia and Frailty) at Bucks New University will be discussing the various options on how to make your business more dementia-friendly in order to gain:

  • Competitive advantage
  • Increased revenue
  • Improved customer service
  • Enhanced brand reputation
  • Future proofing
  • Complying with the law

We do hope you can join us to celebrate the Alliance’s achievements over the last year. In addition to enjoying a breakfast of bacon butties, pastries, tea coffee and fresh orange juice, we are hoping the newly appointed Town Mayor will be joining us.
