Visitors to a special Social Care Open Day this month will get to talk to professionals, explore training, and even have a chance of getting a job.
Buckinghamshire New University, Aylesbury College and Buckinghamshire County Council have joined forces to give visitors the opportunity to learn about social care and social work at the event on 28 January.
As well as Bucks New University and Aylesbury College staff, organisations and experts such as Epilepsy Society, Fremantle Trust Recruitment, and Rennie Grove Hospice Care, will be there to help and offer advice.
Dr Sinclair Coward, Head of Social Work and Integrated Care at Bucks New University, said: “This is a ‘must attend’ event for anyone who has ever considered a career in social care as well as those who are already studying for a health and social care qualification.
“We have lined up a fantastic range of employers, most of whom are looking to recruit workers on the day so brush up your CV and bring it along – you might just leave with a job offer. A few hours of your time could change your life forever.”
People who receive care services will also be on hand to discuss their experiences of receiving social care, delivered through role-play, and you can take a tour of our state-of-the art Tele-Care flat which is equipped with the very latest technology to enable vulnerable people to live safely in their own home.
The Social Care Open Day is being held on Saturday 28 January, between 10am and 2pm, at University Campus Aylesbury Vale, Walton Street, HP21 7QG.
